Al-Hijra - Islamic New Year Celebration
Masjid Yusuf invites the Muslim community to come and join us for Dinner and Lecture in preparation for Muharram 1, 1430 - Al-Hijra - Islamic New Year will be on December 29, 200.
Al-Hijra, the Islamic New Year, is celebrated on the first day of Muharram, the month in which Prophet Muhammed emigrated from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE (the Hijra). The holiday is also known simply as Muharram.
We invite the Muslim Community to gather together at Masjid Yusuf and break fast together in preparation for Eid. Those who are not fasting please join us for dinner.

Iftar & Dinner - Dhul-Hijjah 9, 1429 .. the Day of `Arafah
We invite the Muslim Community to gather together at Masjid Yusuf and break fast together in preparation for Eid. Those who are not fasting please join us for dinner.
Mr Bhatti a Senior Health Education Specialist who works for the Boston Tobacco Prevention & Control Program will be making a presentation on “Youth & Smoking”. Although this presentation is aimed at Youth it can also benefit Adults .. it will provide real world preventative measures that you can apply daily to stop smoking.
The presentation will provide
> facts about smoking
> the health problems that smoking creates
> what individuals can do to stop smoking
> what parents can do to help the youth to stop smoking
Start time: 6:00 pm
Location: Masjid Yusuf
This presentation is open to the public and Parents and Youth are encouraged to attend.
Dinner will be served Entrance Fees: $10/person - Children 10 to 15 $5/child
Children 9 and under free

Eid Prayer at Reggie Lewis Track & Athletics Center - Boston Sep 2008
We are please to announce that Eid prayer will be held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletics Center, insha-Allah

Takbeer will begin around 7:00 AM (Times may be subject to change)
Eid prayer will begin at 7:30 AM, insha-Allah .

Parking:
The Renaissance Parking Garage, 835 Columbus Avenue, Roxbury MA 02120 No parking in front of or on the Reggie Lewis lots. ALL cars will be towed at owners expense.
Directions:
From the West (Massachusetts Turnpike): Follow turnpike into tunnel and take Prudential exit. Proceed westbound on Huntington Avenue, staying in the right lane. Do not travel in the left lane and go under overpass. At second stoplight, take a left onto Mass. Ave. Continue on Mass. Ave. three blocks and take a right onto Tremont Street. The RLTAC is approximately one-half mile ahead on the left just past the new Boston Police headquarters.
From the South & West (128/95): Take 128/95 to Route 93. Take Mass. Ave exit. Follow signs for Mass. Ave. but do not make right onto Mass. Ave at the light by Boston University Medical Center (on the right). Instead continue straight onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. Take Melnea Cass to the end and then turn left onto Tremont Street. The Center is two tenths of a mile ahead on the left, just past the new Boston Police headquarters.
From the North (93 & 95 across Tobin Bridge): Take Mass. Ave exit off Route 93. Follow signs for Mass. Ave. but do not make right onto Mass. Ave at the light by Boston University Medical Center (on the right). Instead continue straight onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. Take Melnea Cass to the end and then turn left onto Tremont Street. The Center is two tenths of a mile ahead on the left, just past the new Boston Police headquarters.
Public Transportation: Take the Orange Line to the Roxbury Crossing stop. The Center is directly across Tremont Street from the station.
