The ISBCC Fund Raising Dinner sponsored by Yusuf Masjid held on Saturday June 28th was a success with $37k raised. We would like to say a BIG thank you to all the people who contributed to this fund raising event (those who attended and also to those who could not attend). A special thanks also goes out to all the people who have been contributing to the ISBCC project funds during Juma prayers at Yusuf Masjid over the last few months. We are pleased to present “Standup for Peace” comedy entertainment event to be be held at The Palestinian Cultural Center for Peace, tickets are $25/person and tickets are available at the door on the day, buy online or at a Masjid near you.

“Standup for Peace” was created by comic Dean Obeidallah and Scott Blakeman as a way of bringing Arab and Jewish-Americans together to laugh as well as to help encourage a dialogue in support of a political, peaceful resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well as foster understanding between Arab and Jewish-Americans.

Dean Obeidallah - Born in New Jersey, the only son of a Palestinian father and a Sicilian mother. Both Dean’s parents have provided him with an enormous amount of material, usually unintentionally. He was a practicing lawyer for several years until the other lawyers he worked with suggested he perform in the New Jersey Bar Association’s funniest lawyer show. Dean has been on many day time TV shows and has also worked for Saturday Night Live.

This event has been organized for the purpose of Muslim Businesses to get to know each other so that they may trade with each other and explore ways in which to reach out to the Muslim Community. There will be lectures and/or presentations, dinner will be served and doors open at 7:30pm, a fee of $25/person will be charged at the door. Yousef Masjid at The Palestinian Cultural Center for Peace (PCCP) now open to the community.
The Center is located in Allston (Boston) incorporating both social and Islamic religious functions. The PCCP and YousefMasjid serves the city of Boston and surrounding towns such as Cambridge, Allston, Brookline and Brighton.
